Core Commitment: All your data is stored on your personal device and iCloud account. We do not upload your personal data to any owned or third-party servers (except for necessary crash analytics services).
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Habit Tracking Data: Habit names, icons, goals, cycles, check-in records, etc.
- Mood Diary Data: Mood ratings, text content, linked habits, photo/video/audio attachments
- Account Settings: Your preferences, reminder times, theme choices, etc.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device model, OS version, app version (for crash analytics only)
- Crash Logs: Technical logs when the app crashes (collected via Bugly service to improve app stability)
- HealthKit Data: Only read specified health data (e.g., steps, exercise time) for auto check-in after your explicit authorization
- Screen Time Data: Only read specific app category usage duration data after your explicit authorization and enabling Screen Time intervention
1.3 Permission Requests
The app may request the following system permissions, which you can disable at any time in system settings:
- Health (HealthKit): To read your health data for automatic habit check-in
- Photo Library: To add photo/video attachments to mood diaries
- Camera: To take photos directly in mood diaries
- Microphone: To record audio in mood diaries
- Screen Time: To monitor specific app usage duration and intervene (optional feature)
- Notifications: To send habit reminders and mood recording reminders
2. How We Use Information
The information we collect is used only for the following purposes:
- Provide and improve core features such as habit tracking, mood recording, and timers
- Enable iCloud cross-device data synchronization (requires you to enable in settings)
- Send reminder notifications you have set
- Generate personal statistics reports and trend analysis
- Diagnose and fix app crash issues (via Bugly service)
- Process your subscriptions and purchases (via Apple StoreKit)
We will never:
- Sell your personal data to third parties
- Use your data for personalized advertising
- Share your data with third parties without your consent
3. Data Storage and Protection
3.1 Local Storage
All user data (habit records, mood diaries, attachment files, etc.) is stored locally on your device using Apple CoreData technology. We do not upload this data to our servers.
3.2 iCloud Synchronization
If you enable iCloud sync in app settings:
- Data will be encrypted and synced to your iCloud account via Apple CloudKit service
- The sync process uses end-to-end encryption; even Apple cannot read your data content
- You can access data on any device logged in with the same Apple ID
- You can disable iCloud sync at any time in app settings
3.3 File Attachment Storage
- Photos, videos, audio, and other attachments in mood diaries are first stored locally
- After enabling iCloud sync, attachments will be encrypted and uploaded to your iCloud private database
- We do not access or store your attachment files
3.4 Crash Analytics Data
We use Tencent Bugly service to collect app crash logs:
- Only collects device model, system version, app version, and crash stack information
- Does not include your personal identity information, habit records, or mood content
- Used to locate and fix program errors and improve app stability

4. Third-Party Services
The app integrates the following third-party services:
- Apple iCloud / CloudKit: For data synchronization, protected by Apple's privacy policy
- Apple HealthKit: For reading health data (requires your authorization)
- Apple Screen Time API: For screen time monitoring (requires your authorization)
- Apple StoreKit: For processing in-app purchases and subscriptions
- Tencent Bugly: For crash analytics (only collects technical logs)
These third-party services have independent privacy policies, and we recommend you review them.
5. Subscription and Payment
The app offers Pro membership subscription services:
- All payments are processed through Apple App Store; we do not store your payment information
- Subscription types include: Monthly, Annual, and Lifetime memberships
- Auto-renewing subscriptions will automatically renew within 24 hours before expiration
- You can cancel subscriptions at any time in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
- We support Pro membership redemption via promo codes
6. Data Retention and Deletion
6.1 Data Retention
As long as you keep the app installed, your data will remain on your device. If you have enabled iCloud sync, data will remain in your iCloud account.
6.2 Data Deletion
You have the right to delete your data at any time:
- Delete individual records: Delete specific habits or mood diaries within the app
- Delete all data: Uninstalling the app will delete all local data
- Delete iCloud data: Delete in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage → BetterMe
Note: Deletion operations are irreversible, please proceed with caution.
7. Children's Privacy
The app is not specifically directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from children, we will delete it as soon as possible.
8. Privacy Policy Updates
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you through in-app notifications. We recommend that you review this policy periodically to stay informed of any changes.
